"God, the almighty and all-knowing, has misplaced a cup?" and so the search for the Holy Grail begins. Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and spoofs everything there is to love about musical theatre. The original 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards including Best Musical and received 14 Tony nominations. With a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award winning team of Idle and John Du Prez, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on a quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are all part of the hilarity. The Charleston Light Opera Guild will present Spamalot at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater on May 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2016 at 7:30 pm and May 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
